The Bead Guide
WORLD 02 / HOW TO PLAY
One bead at a time.
Fuse beads turn a grid of little colors into a finished piece of pixel art. Start small, take your time and enjoy watching the pattern appear.
01 / Choose your colors
Pick a simple pattern and gather your materials: fuse beads, a compatible pegboard, appropriate ironing paper and an iron. Check that the bead size and pegboard are designed to work together. Review the instructions and age guidance for your actual supplies.
02 / Build your world
Work on a flat, stable surface. Place beads onto the pegboard one row at a time. Tweezers can help with small details. Before fusing, check the pattern for gaps and any colors you want to change.
03 / Bring it to life
An adult should handle the iron. Follow the bead manufacturer’s instructions for heat, paper, timing and any turning or flattening steps. Let the piece and tools cool fully before handling them. Do not assume that different brands use the same settings.
A little care goes a long way
- Small beads can be a choking hazard. Keep them away from young children and pets.
- Use the age guidance provided with the final product and supervise children appropriately.
- Keep hot tools on a suitable surface and away from loose supplies.
- Sort leftover beads into closed containers so your next project starts easily.
